5 Good Reasons to Use Video to Boost Your Business
Okay, the doors to your business are open. You have an attractive sign, a clean and clear entrance, plenty of parking and street traffic. You've done your homework. Your products and/or services are priced correctly and you have a superior business model to your competitors. So why aren't customers beating a path to your door?
How easy is it for your customers to find you? Are you hanging out where your customers are looking? And do you know where that is?
Long gone are the days of the yellow pages. Your customers likely go straight to the Internet to find you…learn more about you…and read reviews from others that have used your services—ALL OF THIS BEFORE THEY EVEN PICK UP THE PHONE TO CALL YOU.
Being successful online means creating a clear and easy path for your customers—beginning at Google or Bing or Yahoo (or any other search engine they use) and ending at your front door (online, this is your WEBSITE!).
There are several tools you can use to create this clear and easy path…one of which is VIDEO.
Here are 5 good reasons to use VIDEO to boost your business, according to Lisa Keating, Owner of Encino Mom Productions.
(1) Google is the number 1 search engine in the world. It uses a complex algorithm to rank your website among others with similar content. When customers search for keywords relevant to your business, it’s important for your site to pop up at the top of those search results. Guess what? Google now owns YouTube, and has prioritized the use of video within its algorithm. So, just by incorporating video into your website…you can get priority search-rankings with Google.
(2) Have you ever seen a celebrity, politician or local business person on TV and then seen them in person? Did you recognize them, or maybe you just felt like you knew them, but couldn't quite place the face? Well, that's the power of video at work. Video helps customers to feel like they know you, even before they've met you.
(3) Video helps to qualify customers, too. If they like you on video, they'll probably like you in person. We know people do business with people they know, like and trust. Video can go a long way toward building those qualities into your relationship with virtual strangers.
(4) Oh, one more thought: video is especially suited to conveying complex ideas, stories and qualities that would otherwise be tedious or impossible to explain or difficult to translate with a single still picture. Imagine trying to sell music with text and pictures alone.
(5) They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Videos show 30 pictures per second. That translates to 1,800 pictures per minute, times 1,000 words. That gives you the equivalent of 1.8 million words per minute!
